NAMPONG, Dec 6: The Tangsa YouthWelfare Association (TYWA) has alleged irregularity in construction of the border haat at Pangsau Pass along the Indo-Myanmar border.
The association rejected the ‘undated’ monitoring report and completion certificate, which was reportedly signed by PRI members and GBs of Nampong area and issued by the Deputy Director, Department of Urban Development and Housing, Jairampur Division, for release of partial payment for earth-cutting work.
The association has claimed that the work was never completed in all respects.
“The earth-cutting is neither fully completed nor satisfactory,” said TYWA President Seng Longjung.
The TYWA also said that the Department of Urban Development and Housing, Jairampur Division, has not provided the complete report and data pertaining to the project, in spite of the association having filed for information under the RTI Act.
The border haat at Pangsau Pass was one of four such haats sanctioned for Arunachal Pradesh under the Centre’s ambitious Act East Policy.
