NAHARLAGUN, Dec 6: The testing camp for Rajya Puraskar, which was held at the Bharat Scouts & Guides’ (BSG) state training centre here in two phases from November 25, ended on Wednesday.
Altogether 190 Scouts and Guides from Papum Pare, Lower Subansiri, West Siang, Upper Siang, Siang, East Siang, Lower Dibang Valley, Lohit, Tirap, Namsai, Tawang, and Upper Subansiri districts attended the camp.
The testing involved a range of topics such as the Pravesh to Rajya Puraskar syllabus, promise and laws, signs, salute, knotting and lashings, and first-aid.
Scouts and Guides have to appear for various tests in five stages – from Pravesh to Pratham, Dwitiya Sopan, Tritiya Sopan and Rajya Puraskar – to qualify for the tests.
State BSG Chief Commissioner, Gania Leij met with the participants on November 27.
The Rajya Puraskar is the highest state level award for Scouts and Guides, which is awarded by the Governor of the state.
BSG state officials P Kalita, Chanyan Lowang, and Kempi Pakam conducted the camp, with the assistance of 18 Scout Masters and Guide Captains.
