AALO, Dec 7: The Indian Army based here recently conducted a three-day white water rafting expedition, from Thumbin to Pangin, on the Siyom River.
Organised with the aim of fostering the spirit of adventure and teamwork, the expedition saw the participation of 30 members.
The exploration down the 87 km stretch of the river was completed in three phases, through three rapids. Besides being a test of skill, stamina, patience, and teamwork, the event highlighted the tremendous potential for water sports and ecotourism in West Siang district.
The army here is also starting a series of sports extravaganzas, starting with a football tournament at the military football ground here from December 11 to 16. (DIPRO)
