DEGO, Dec 8: APEDA Chairman and local MLA, Jarkar Gamlin, inaugurated the upgraded government secondary school at Dego village in West Siang district today.
The MLA lauded the efforts of the school’s authority and the SMC “for bringing good results despite the shortcomings as a new school.”
He urged the teachers to impart quality education, and advised the students to not fall prey to vices.
Gamlin also said more fund would be earmarked for the upgraded school’s development, and asked the school’s authority to ensure planned growth of its infrastructure.
Responding to memorandum pertaining to construction of an RCC community hall and a PMGSY road connecting the village, Gamlin gave assurance that he would do whatever was possible from his end.
Deputy Commissioner Swetika Sachan, who also attended the function, stressed on uniform growth of all schools in terms of infrastructure, teaching strength, and other facilities.
She asked the DDSE to “finalise the name of the school in the list for smart classes in the second phase, considering the good results and the student strength of the school.”
The headmaster of the school, T Nyodu, spoke about the progress and problems of the school, while DDSE Tumto Lollen laid emphasis on parents’ role and care outside the school to encourage students to do better.
Among others, former ZPC Gumli Lollen and AS Chairperson Karsen Lollen also spoke. (DIPRO)
