ITANAGAR, Dec 11: The Galo Language Development Committee (GLDC) has been awarded the North East India Tribal Literature Award – 2017 jointly by Christ School International, Shillong, and Kongkong Lige Loyi Foundation.
The award, which includes a citation and Rs 25,000, was handed over by former Meghalaya chief secretary PJ Bazley on Saturday.
The GLDC was awarded for designing a modified version of the Roman script to develop a script for the Galo community, called ‘Galoo Ennam’, and for creating an android application called ‘Galoo Agom App.’
