Libang reviews ongoing road projects

ITANAGAR, Dec 20: Rural Development Minister Alo Libang along with officials of the Highway department on Wednesday reviewed ongoing road projects in some of the districts in eastern Arunachal Pradesh.
Addressing a meeting at the state secretariat’s conference hall here today, Libang said the state government is committed to provide road connectivity to the people.
He said the completion of the Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) and the PMGSY projects in different parts of state would improve the living standards of the people.
He spoke about major roads to be taken up in Upper Siang district, which includes two-laning of the Yingkiong-Bishing (Porge Via Gette-Pugging-Likor-Paling-Jido) road; two-laning of the Zido-Singha road; two-laning of the Khanu-Khonsa road and the Pangchao-Nagaland road; and two-laning of the Pango-Jorging road, among other such roads.
Highways Chief Engineer Toli Basar said payment of compensation is almost competed for the Potin-Pangin road. He informed that several committees have been formed under the respective deputy commissioners, involving stakeholders and EPC contractors, to verify concerns in order to fast-track the TAH project.
