KHONSA/TAWANG, Dec 23: The Khonsa battalion of the Assam Rifles (AR) conducted a medical camp at remote Khanu village in Tirap district, under its civic action programme.
Over 533 patients from Khanu and its adjacent villages, including Chop, Changkhao, and Kamhua Noksa benefited from the camp.
Besides health check-up and treatment, the patients were given free medical consultation and medicines.
A health education and awareness programme was also conducted for the villagers by the RMO and staff of the battalion’s medical platoon.
Meanwhile, the 12 Kumaon Regiment also organized a medical camp at Jangda village in Tawang district on 23 December.
In total, 352 villagers from Jangda and nearby villages turned up for the camp and availed of free health check-up, including dental, oral, and consultations.
A team of three medical officers and 10 nursing assistants was fielded by the Army for the camp in addition to administrative staff.
