Students on national integration tour

TINSUKIA (Assam), Dec 24: Twenty-four students from the government higher secondary school and the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Anini (Dibang Valley district), accompanied by teachers, are on a tour to New Delhi, Agra, and Lucknow as part of a national integration tour organised by the DAO Division of the Indian Army.
The division’s general officer commanding flagged off the tour at Bhupen Hazarika Setu here on Sunday, in the presence of the Lekhapani Army garrison’s commander and the deputy commissioners of Dibang Valley and Lower Dibang Valley districts.
The main objective of the fortnight-long tour is to acquaint the students with the vast and rich cultural heritage of the country.
The students will also interact with President of India Ram Nath Kovind and Union MoS for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju during their visit to the national capital.
The tour will end on 6 January.
