Hurricane XI to meet Seppa United Cricket Club in final
SEPPA, Dec 26: Hurricane XI will meet Seppa United Cricket Club in the final of the Late Lokup Sono Yangfo (LLSY) T20 Memorial Cricket Tournament at the general ground here in East Kameng district on Thursday.
Hurricane XI and SUCC entered into the final, defeating their respective opponents, Ane Donyi Cricket Club and Pachuk XI, in the semi-finals on Tuesday.
Hurricane XI won the toss and elected to bat first against ADCC in the first semi-final and scored 156 runs, losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. Kipa Tayem (48) and Ara Waii Sonam (22) were the highest scorers for Hurricane XI.
Chasing the target of 157, the ADCC players were bundled out in 16.2 overs, after scoring a paltry 69 runs.
Alegnom Moya contributed the highest runs (24).
In the second semi-final, SUCC won the toss and elected to bat first against Pachuk XI and scored 106 runs in 18.2 overs.
Tabom Ngomle (42) was the highest scorer for SUCC.
Hurricane XI’s bowler Neron Barman, who claimed 4 wickets, and SUCC’s Judi Bagang (3 wickets) were declared ‘Men of the Matches’.
The winner will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh along with trophy, while the runner-up will receive Rs 50,000 with trophy.
The first-ever LLSY memorial tourney is organised by the East Kameng Sporting Club.
