BASAR, Dec 29: The additional session judge’s court here in West Siang district has sentenced three persons accused in various criminal cases to undergo rigorous imprisonment.
Accused Henbin Basar, who was convicted on 18 December, has been sentenced to 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment with fine under Section 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, and two years’ rigorous imprisonment under Section 506 of the IPC in connection with Basar police station Case No 09/2015, under Section 376 of the IPC, R/W Section 4 of the POCSO Act.
Pelin Lombi has been sentenced to three years’ rigorous imprisonment in connection with Basar police station Case No 26/2013, under Section 342/376/511 of the IPC, R/W Section 8 of the POCSO Act.
Lombi, who was convicted on 12 December, was also fined Rs 1000 under Section 8 of the POCSO Act.
The court sentenced Md Meinol Haque to one year’s rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs 500. He was convicted on 27 March under Section 12 of the POCSO Act, in connection with Dumporijo police station Case No 23/2015, under Section 323 of the IPC, R/W Section 4/18 of the POCSO Act. (DIPRO)
