Skill development training underway

PASIGHAT, Dec 30: A 30-day skill development training for vermi-compost producers under the Agricultural Skill Council of India was inaugurated by College of Horticulture & Forestry (CHF) Dean Dr AK Pandey here on Saturday.
Dean of the College of Agriculture, Central Agriculture University, Pasighat, Dr BN Hazarika,informed the participants about the scope of vermi-compost production in Arunachal Pradesh with several examples and success stories from the Northeastern region.
Senior Scientist, Dr M Pathak, explained the benefits of various schemes and incentives of the central and state governments for establishing agro-based industries.
The 25 registered participants will participate in 60 lectures from various subject matter experts, along with practical work and exposure visits during the month-long training.
Implemented at the CHF in association with the East Siang Krishi Vigyan Kendra, the programme is sponsored by the Directorate of Aricanut and Spices Development, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture.
