Siang, Changlang, Tirap set for state level tourney
ITANAGAR, Jan 10: The second edition of the district level Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy concluded in Siang, Changlang and Tirap districts on Wednesday.
Amidst a loud cheering crowd at Pangin in Siang district, Jomlo-Mobuk Circle won over team Nugong Bango in women’s volleyball.
Omen Mibang was adjudged best player.
In men’s volleyball team Dogong Bango emerged as the winner over team Rumgong Circle.
Tadom Tatin was adjudged best player.
In women’s football, Magong Banggo was declared the winning team over team Jomlo-Mobuk Circle.
Momang Jerang was adjudged best player.
The winning team of men’s football was Rumgong Circle which won over team Nugong Bango.
Tanyang Taloh was adjudged the best player.
The winners and runners up of the tournament were awarded cash prize, medals and Trophy.
Appreciating the District Sports Authority and organising committee for successfully organising the tournament, MLA Tapang Taloh advised all participants to maintain sportsmanship spirit.
Stating that games and sports is not just recreational but instils positive attributes of camaraderie, discipline, unity and team work, Deputy Commissioner Rahul Singh urged the participants to imbibe these attributes in other areas of life also.
At Changlang, the district level tournament culminated with the 50-Miao winning against 51-Nampong. Lopsam Bo was adjudged best player of the tournament.
In women’s football 50-Miao registered their in the final match by defeating 49-Bordumsa. Anem Mossang was adjudged best player of the tournament.
In men’s volleyball category, 53-Changlang North defeated 52-Changlang South in the final match, while in women’s volleyball category, 53-Changlang North defeated 51-Nampong.
Kengsim Kenglang and Phensan Salnang of Changlang North were adjudged best players of volleyball men and women categories respectively.
At Tirap, Laho Football Club from 56-Khonsa West defeated Pullong Football Team from 57th Borduria-Bogapani in a penalty shootout 5-3 to win the men’s football final match held in Khonsa’s Nehru Stadium.
In women’s volleyball, KGBV Barap team from 56th Khonsa West won the tournament, while the Nogna Youth Club of 55-Khonsa won in the men’s volleyball category.
In women’s football category, Ngumi Rangwang from 56-Khonsa West was declared the best player, while Wangbang Longriam from 56-Khonsa was the best player in men’s football.
In women’s volleyball, Tonpoa Hutu of 54 Namsang-Deomali was adjudged best player, while Dinok Diven from 55-Khonsa East was the best player in the men’s volleyball category.
The final day of the event was also attended by wife of martyr Hangpan Dada, Chasen Lowang Dada and other dignitaries.
Meanwhile, Tirap Additional Deputy Commissioner Techu Aran congratulated and extended best wishes to the winning teams for the ensuing state level competition, which is scheduled to be held at the Aalo playground.
At Ziro, Diibo Zilla segment and Yazali Zilla segment won the men’s and women’s football, beating their respective opponents Yazali and Raga Zilla segments.
In volleyball, Pistana Zilla segment and Kamporijo-II became champion in the women’s and men’s section respectively.
Pistana beat Kamporijo-I Zilla while Kamporijo-II beat Pistana.
Likha Pinya of Pistana Zilla segment and Nabam Tede of the same zilla segment were adjudged as the best women and men volleyball players respectively.
Tarh Yano of Yazali Zilla segment and Hage Gendha of Diibo zilla segment were awarded the best female and male football players.
The closing ceremony was attended by Ziro ADC Nending Chatung, ASM Kago Delyang, DSO Ajong Sitek and sports enthusiasts. (DIPROs)
