State senior karate team leaves for KAI C’ship in Kolkata

ITANAGAR, Jan 10: An 18-member contingent of karate players of the state, accompanied by four officials, left here on Wednesday for West Bengal to participate in the Karate Association of India (KAI) Senior National Karate Championship beginning at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium Kolkata, on January 13.
Rakesh Gamnu and Prakash Limbu are the coaches and Achu Bagang and Chunnu Sangno are the team managers.
KAI Senior Championship is the country’s top karate event.
Meanwhile, the three main pillars of karate in Arunachal Pradesh Shihan Likha Tara, President of Arunachal Karate-Do Association, Sensei Bulang Marik, General Secretary and Technical Director Shihan S Deben Sharma wished the state team all the best for the championship.
