NAHARLAGUN, Jan 12: The Department of Women & Child Development (WCD) has started implementing centrally-sponsored schemes (CSS) through the Public Finance Management System (PFMS).
The department has made mandatory use of PFMS for all central sector schemes, in compliance with the instruction of the Women & Child Development ministry, for effective monitoring of flow of funds to the beneficiaries of different government welfare schemes.
The WCD department implements various CSS’.
The department has started transferring the salaries of staff of all levels, and honorariums of Anganwadi workers and Anganwadi helpers, from 9 January.
‘WCD is the first department in the state to transfer the salaries of regular employees through the PFMS platform, ensuring transfer of net amount to the respective bank accounts of the employees, deducting the GPF, UTGIES, water charges, civic charges, etc, for depositing to the departments concerned,’ informed WCD Director TP Loyi in a release.
The director said it became possible only due to the ‘strong decision of the WCD secretary, regular direction of the finance commissioner, and sincere efforts put in by the PFMS cells of the Finance department.’
