Speaker stresses on education, hygiene

KALAKTANG, Jan 14: Legislative Assembly Speaker TN Thongdok spoke on the importance of quality education, avoiding open defecation, and keeping up hygienic practices, during the second and third day of his tour of the villages in Kalaktang circle of West Kameng district.
Interacting with the villagers at Betchling, Lungdur, Waizer Dengzi, Samdrung, Warrangpam, Brokpalangchen and Liphakpu (all part of his constituency), Thongdok said the state government is primed to bring all- round development in the state while according priority to education, health, communication, and unemployment, among other things.
He also mourned the demise of three persons who lost their lives in a car accident at Angkaling on 11 January. He distributed ex gratia among the bereaved families and the injured.
The villagers of Lungdur, Dengzi, Samdrung and Warrangpam, who had earlier not been in support of Thongdok as their MLA, assured him their support in bringing development to the area.
The Speaker was accompanied by former minister DK Thongdok, Kalaktang ADC Hage Lailang, ZPM Tashi Norbu, and a host of government officers.
