CHANGLANG, Jan 15: The Goodwill Football Tournament-2018, organized by the 149 Bn CRPF under its civic action programme, began at the general ground here on Monday.
“One of the main motives of organizing the tournament is to improve the relation between paramilitary forces and the public through sports and know each other better,” said the battalion’s Deputy Commanding Officer, AK Sahoo.
Changlang Deputy Commissioner Wayong Khimhun, who kicked off the tournament, said that games and sports bring people closer and provide an opportunity to know each other better. He advised the players to maintain discipline and sportsman spirit on and off the field.
United Khuchep thrashed New Thamlom 9-0 in a lopsided opening match.
In another match, All Muklom Students Union team trounced Jungmaisung 5-0.
