ITANAGAR, Jan 17: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has urged the Union and the State governments to expedite the process for appointment of a regular director for NERIST at the earliest.
It further said that to press for early appointment of Director, the union will take out a rally from the NERIST to the tennis court in Itanagar on 24 January.
‘It is a matter of serious concern that a premier technical institute like the NERIST is running without a regular director for so long and the authority concerned is busy in making lame excuses, instead of doing away with the problems of the student fraternity’, the Union said while expressing its displeasure at the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
It said that the Union had apprise the centre on several occasions regarding appointment of a regular Director, while adding that in May last year, Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar informed the AAPSU that process for appointment of regular director was already initiated.
