KOHIMA, Jan 17: Bishnu Bhujel, a Self Styled Sergeant Major of the NSCN (K) was apprehended on Tuesday by the Changlang battalion of the security forces, following an input that he was trying to extort money from Mulong village, Ledo.
Security forces claimed that the cadre admitted to being an active part of the banned outfit since 2016 and had undergone six months weapons’ training at an NSCN (K) camp in Myanmar.
Reportedly, his wife is also an active cadre of the outfit.
Forces further said that he has been carrying out extortion in the area and was working in close association with Self Styled Major Makam Hacheng, a high ranking cadre of the NSCN (K).
