Training on piggery held

N/LAKHIMPUR (Assam), Jan 18: Thirty-five livelihood service providers from Yazali, Doimukh and Kimin blocks in Arunachal Pradesh took part in a two-day training programme on pig rearing, organized here jointly by the North East Initiative Development Agency (NEIDA) and the Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science (LCVSc) from 16 January.
LCVSc Associate Dean, Dr UR Tamuli in his inaugural address urged the participants to focus on scientific rearing of pig for better production.
NEIDA Project Associate, Dr Prabhat Baruah highlighted the objectives of the training-cum-workshop, and stressed on the role of scientific production practices in enhancing pig productivity.
Topics like general management, breeding and reproduction, animal health and nutrition, hygienic pork production, and integrated farming were also discussed during the training.
