TAWANG, Jan 18: A ten-day workshop on yak and lion dance conducted at Zomkhang Hall here by the NE Centre of the Sangeet Natak Akademi (SNA) came to an end on Thursday.
The workshop was aimed at giving a platform to the younger generation to take forward their rich culture and tradition in the form of performing arts, and to foster cultural contacts between different regions of the country.
Around 30 youths from Tawang and West Kameng districts attended the workshop.
The highlights of the workshop were yak and lion dance performed by the participants, Monpa folk dance by a Monpa cultural troupe, etc.
Lok Rang, a festival of folk art forms, was also celebrated during the workshop.
SNA Project Assistant Deepak Joshi expressed gratitude to the Tawang district administration and the Snow Lion cultural troupe for the support they rendered. (DIPRO)
