Itanagar, Jan 21: Residents of Bomdila participated in a cleanliness drive organised at the district hospital in Bomdila by the All West Kameng District Students’ Union on Saturday.
Themed ‘Hope – clean Bomdila campaign’, the drive also saw the participation of West Kameng Deputy Commissioner Dr Sonal Swaroop and SP PN Khrimey, who both planted tree saplings in the hospital’s premises.
In Naharlagun, UD Parliamentary Secretary Techi Kaso participated in a cleanliness drive organised by the All Naharlagun Auto Welfare Association (ANAWA) at C Sector and public bus stands on Sunday.
Kaso appealed to the youths to take part in cleanliness drives once a week to develop the habit of keeping the township clean and hygienic.
Itanagar Municipal Council Deputy Chief Councillor Tarh Nachung, All Arunachal Pradesh Public Transport Federation President Dobing Sonam, ANAWA President Gida Joshep, Secretary Kipa Tagio, executive members and auto rickshaw drivers also participated in the cleanliness drive.
In Koloriang, the Urban Development department organised a cleanliness drive in the town on 20 January as part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Supported by the Kurung Kumey district administration, government departments, the VKV, the market committee, and the 85 Bn GREF, the drive saw the participation of a large number of locals.
