Min visits remote villages

YINGKIONG, Jan 21: RD Minister Alo Libang along with Deputy Commissioner Duly Kamduk, HoDs and panchayat leaders visited Singa and other remote villages in Upper Siang district during a weeklong tour that concluded on Saturday.
During the tour the team interacted and held meetings with the villagers of Rishing, Zido, Ngaming, Kugging, Nyering, Nyukong, Payindem, Yortung, Mankota, Tashigong, Simuge, Singa and Tuting.
The minister announced several developmental packages related to road connectivity, drinking water, electricity, infrastructure, the agri-horti sector, health care, etc. The team also inspected schools and health centres along with ongoing and completed schemes of various departments.
At the end of the tour, Libang along with Tawang MLA Tsering Tashi attended the Losar festival celebration in Tuting subdivision. The festival was celebrated there from 19-21 January.
Besides rituals, the celebration featured cultural presentations. Several tourists, including foreign ones, participated in the festivity. (DIPRO)
