YUPIA Jan 31: The Tourism department organized an awareness programme on the occasion of the National Tourism Day at Borum Middle School here on Wednesday.
Highlighting the importance of National Tourism Day, Papum Pare District Tourism Officer Tater Mize advised the school children to maintain good manners and imbibe the sense of responsibility towards protecting the nature and environment to enhance tourist flow in the area.
Arunachal Pradesh Tour Operator Association (APTOA) president John Panye and Tourist Information Officer, Rechi Lugnya as resource persons highlighted career opportunities in the tourism sector and hospitality.
“Arunachal has huge potential for tourism development”, they said while exhorting every individual to play a pivotal role for promotion of tourism in the state.
School Headmaster, Gyammar Tachung also spoke on the occasion.
Essay writing and quiz competitions were also organized for the students and prizes were distributed to the winners.
Members of the District Tourism Promotion Committee, school children, teachers and staffers of the Tourism department were also present. (DIPRO)
