ITANAGAR, Feb 5: Researchers and staff of the GB Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment and Sustainable Development’s regional centre here organised an awareness campaign-cum-cleanliness drive at Nonpu village in Papum Pare district on Monday.
The programme was organized as part of the Swacch Bharat Mission (SBM).
The activities carried out during the event included distribution of flyers; putting up SBM posters at public places; installing bamboo dustbins; and planting saplings by the institute’s members and the villagers.
Nonpu gaon burah Nabam Tajum highlighted the activities carried out in the village by the institute under the SBM during the last two years, while Midpu panchayat chairperson Tana Selli lauded the institute’s initiative.
