DIRANG, Feb 5: The Tourism department organized a tourism awareness programme for the senior students of St Lopon English School and the government higher secondary school here in West Kameng district on 3 February.
Assistant Director Tourism Bengia Manna Sonam and other resource persons informed the students about the state’s tourism potential, its status and opportunities, and its diverse flora and fauna.
Quiz competitions on tourism, along with counselling sessions on career opportunities in tourism were also organised at both the schools.
Prizes were given to 10 best students in the quiz competition.
The teachers expressed their willingness to start tourism and conservation clubs in their schools.
