ITANAGAR, Feb 6: NHM Mission Director Dr Tapasya Raghav emphasized the need for strong convergence of the line departments to ensure holistic health care and improved the National De-worming Day (NDD) coverage.
She was addressing a state level coordination committee meeting on NDD, the Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK) and maternal activities with officials of the education and WCD departments and others here on Monday. NDD is slated to be launched on 19 March.
Dr Raghav urged the line departments to give their full cooperation and coordinate with the health department in implementing NDD effectively.
Underscoring the role played by frontline workers in mobilizing the community, she directed nodal officer (child health) Dr Tana Natung to ensure payment of incentives to the ASHAs on time.
She also called for concerted efforts to make the entire state free from worm, and to give emphasis on sanitation and cleanliness.
Nodal officer (RKSK) Dr Rumi informed about the status of RKSK and maternal health, while nodal officer (mother & child health), Dr Tana Natung informed that, after the launch of NDD, mop-up day would be conducted on 23 March to cover the missed-out children.
During NDD, free Albendazole tablets will be distributed at all government and private schools, anganwadi centres and health facilities.
