DOLLUNGMUKH, Feb 8: The 51st Boori-Boot Yullo was celebrated with traditional gaiety here in Kamle district on Tuesday.
Attending the celebration, Union MoS for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju called upon the young generation to preserve and promote their culture and tradition.
“One should embrace modernity, but at the same time should not forget to carry forward one’s old tradition and culture,” he said.
The MoS announced Rs 25 lakh for the renovation of the Boori-Boot Yullo ground here. He also gave assurance that the electricity problem in Dollungmukh would be resolved during his tenure.
Expressing concern over the illegal eviction drive carried out by Assam forest authority, Rijiju said such activities should not be repeated as it hampers the cordial relations between the people of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. He suggested forming a high-level committee comprising the DGPs, SPs and chief secretaries of both the states to find a permanent solution to the problem.
Among others, Food & Civil Supplies Parliamentary Secretary (PS) Tage Taki, Anima Husbandry PS Tamar Murtem, and NHPC Subansiri Lower Project ED Rakesh attended the celebration.
