APCC urges PM to hand over alleged hydro scam to CBI

ITANAGAR, Feb 14: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to hand over the alleged Rs 405 crores Hydro Power Scam to the CBI.
The party claimed that the vigilance unit of NEEPCO has already filed a charge sheet to the Central Vigilance Commission (CBC) in this regard.
The Congress also questioned the inaction of both the state and central governments with regard to the Tawang firing incident.
“On 2nd May, 2016, a Buddhist lama of the Tawang Monastery, Nyima Wangdi and another person Tsering Tempa were killed and several others seriously injured in a police firing on unarmed protesters”, the APCC said and demanded immediate CBI inquiry to unearth the truth behind the incident.
The Congress party also asked why the case was not being handed over to the CBI if it could do the same in the PDS case.
The Congress also alleged that the BJP is trying to fool people by announcing that PDS case (which dates back to 2004) is being transferred to the CBI.
“Any case to be handed over to the CBI has to be taken up in the Cabinet before recommending it to the CBI. The BJP is fooling people of the state with white lies”, it claimed and challenged the BJP Government to handover the cases to the CBI immediately.
Further, the APCC welcomed the court verdict which directed for thorough inquiry of illegal appointment of 300 posts in the state Health Department.
The APCC expressed hope that the inquiry would unearth the truth and punish all those who are involved in the scam.
It also took a jibe at the BJP and asked “when would the ‘Acche Din’ (good days) come?”
