ITANAGAR, Feb 16: The Arunachal Tribal Contractors’ Welfare Association (ATCWA) in a memorandum to the governor on Friday requested him to direct the state government to allocate funds equally among all the districts in RE 2017-18.
Claiming that in the 2016-17 RE, the government allocated 90 per cent of infrastructure development funds to Tawang, West Kameng and Namsai districts by depriving the remaining districts of development, the ATWCA said such “pick and choose method for political mileage” should be stopped while selecting schemes for the welfare of the people.
The association said that the state government allocated fund for the promotion of a particular religion by sanctioning fund for the construction monasteries in Tawang, Bomdila and Namsai districts, “which is not granted by the Constitution of India.”
