Early completion of road sought

ITANAGAR, Feb 16: Lower Subansiri District NABARD Road Committee chairman Tayo Nibing has in a representation to the PWD commissioner on Friday expressed concern over the inordinate delay in construction of the 20 km point section of the Ziro-Daporijo BRTF road, and sought the commissioner’s intervention to ensure early construction of the road.
Nibing alleged that Rs 3569.02 lakh had been sanctioned for the construction of the road but the Yazali PWD division has not completed the work, except carrying out formation cutting.
He claimed that the executing agency did not carry out other components of work including carpeting of road, construction of Bailey bridge, RCC slab culvert, etc, along the road.
Claiming that the people of Tayo, Gangte, Nama, Charbya, Diligi and Chimpiki villages are facing much hardship due to the deplorable condition of the road, the chairman appealed to the commissioner to initiate stringent action against the authority responsible for the inordinate delay in construction of the road.
