Assn seeks cancellation of direct recruitment

NAHARLAGUN, Feb 19: The All Arunachal Pradesh Employed Health Assistant Association in a letter to the NHM’s state nodal officer (BC), on Monday sought cancellation of direct recruitment of GNM/staff nurses to the post of community health officer (CHO).
The association claimed that direct recruitment of CHOs from GNM/staff nurses is a violation of the existing recruitment rules.
“Only the posts of lady health visitor, senior health assistant, health inspector, inspector (small pox), paramedical assistant, assistant malaria officer and PMW (leprosy) can be promoted to the post of CHO as per the recruitment rule,” it claimed.
The association also expressed opposition to the department’s decision to recruit GNM/staff nurses directly to the post of CHO after completion of a bridge course, saying the move would curtail the promotional scope of other posts.
It demanded immediate cancellation of the ongoing selection of GNM and staff nurses for the bridge course for CHO.
