ITANAGAR, Feb 24: CSIR-North East Institute of Science & Technology Branch Itanagar organised a training programme on cultivation of mushroom at Pachin Colony on 24 February.
Senior technical Officer Dr Budhen Ch Baruah highlighted the medicinal and food values of edible mushrooms, particularly the presence of vitamin-D.
He stressed on domestic cultivation of known varieties available at the NEIST Branch Itanagar.
Twenty-five participants attended the training programme, where a practical demonstration on preparation of mushroom bags was demonstrated.
Later, Dr Baruah distributed about 40 mushroom spawns to the participants for trial cultivation.
