Training on ‘Molecular Techniques’ concludes

PASIGHAT, Feb 27: Six days Hands on Training on ‘Molecular Techniques’ organized by the Basic Science and Humanities department of the College of Horticulture & Forestry, CAU, for the technical staff, research scholars and students under the Advance Level Institutional Biotech Hub concluded here on Tuesday.
Presiding over the valedictory function, College Dean Dr A K Pandey, highlighted about the inception of biotechnology in India and its application for quality production of various crops.
Biotechnology can make miracles in agriculture through transgenic, such as genetically modified crops like Golden Rice, BT Cotton and BT Brinjal, he said and highlighted the benefits of bio fertilizers.
Course Director and Biotechnology Assistant Professor, Dr Amit Kumar Singh highlighted the theoretical and practical aspects of biotechnology.
Among others, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Fruit Science Dr L Wangchu, all faculty members and technical staff of the college were present in the valedictory function.
