Three arrested for cashier’s murder

PASIGHAT, Feb 28: The Pasighat unit police have arrested three culprits allegedly involved in the murder case of Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank cashier Bomge Nyori.
The police, following investigation of the case (No. 23/2018, u/s- 302 IPC) picked up Subash Mandal alias Harindan Mandal (28) and Sukumar Mandal alias Kakhan Mandal (32) Cooch Bihar from West Bengal on 26 February.
Following the duo’s statement, the police later arrested Ramesh Yadav (30) from Namsing (Mebo) village in East Siang district on the next day.
The arrested persons are under police custody.
The police informed that one of the accused runs a shop, while another used to work in a farm.
Deceased Bomge Nyori, a cashier of Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank, Mebo Branch was killed inside the bank, while he was working alone on the evening of 7 February last.
The police, following his wife’s complaint later, found him in a pool of blood inside the bank.
The accused had delivered a lethal blow on the cashier’s head and took away the key of the bank’s locker from his possession. Police said that the miscreants also took away the CCTV equipments from the bank after committing the crime. They later threw it into a river near Namsing village.
“We have recovered the CCTV equipments and handed these over to experts for analysis of footage”, said the investing officer.
Though the Pasighat unit police claimed to have solved the murder case, they are reluctant to disclose more information regarding the case for the sake of fair investigation.
“We will charge sheet the case soon after analysis of the video CCTV footage”, said the investigating officer.
