AALO, Mar 1: A mass legal service camp was organized jointly by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), the district administration and other development departments at Gumin Kiin on Wednesday last.
In all, 19 stalls were set up by various departments, including the APWWS West Siang unit and NGOs like Mothers’ Vision to showcase their activities on the occasion.
Attending the inaugural programme, Commander 44th BRTF, Col Sameer Malik lauded the DLSA for organizing the camp to make people aware about legal services and provisions, development issues and welfare measures taken up by the government.
Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Member Secretary DLSA, Hirendra Kashyap said that the camp is an effort towards connecting people with various welfare schemes, entitlements and law enactments which can benefit them.
The heads of various departments of the district, like medical, horticulture, agriculture, PHED, industries, textile and handicrafts, ICDS, urban & housing, legal metrology, APEDA, forest, fire services, besides the SBI, APEDA, APWWS and Mothers’ Vision, dwelt on their schemes and programme elaborately.
Advocates from the West Siang Bar Association, para legal volunteers and legal aid counsels, of the district also took part in the event. (DIPRO)
