KHONSA, Mar 5: Borduria-Bogapani MLA said that water problem in Borduria area will be solved soon as the ongoing water project by the PHE&WS department is likely to be complete within this month or the next.
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the 100-bed Thansen Wanchadong Girls’ Hostel at Poakom Middle School on Monday, Lowangdong said he is trying his best to improve the healthcare facilities along with road communication and education sector.
Lowangdong, who also is the Advisor to the Chief Minister, informed that currently there are three primary health centers-one ach at Kapu, Borduria and Paniduria, and two sub-centres at Chasa and Kaimai.
Two health sub-centres near Poakom and Khela circle headquarters will be coming up soon.
One ambulance each for the three PHCs have already been procured to minimize the problem of the poor patients, he said, adding that he is pressing hard for posting doctors in all the PHCs and that the process is on to post a doctor at the Paniduria PHC.
Lowangdong appealed to all the local government employees posted in the district to work with dedication and sincerity in the interest greater interest of the public.
The local MLA urged the local employees, particularly teachers to discharge duty in order to improve the education scenario of the district, which according to him, is lagging behind other districts.
The hostel was constructed at the cost of Rs 1.23 crore funded under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The Poakom English Schoo is run under the aegis of Nocte Tribal Welfare Institute (NTWI).
NTWI committee member and associate field director of Nocte Baptist Churches Association Rev Thokwang Mema also spoke on the occasion. (DIPRO)
