ITANAGAR, Mar 8: The Nyishi Indigenous Faith & Cultural Society has appealed to Chief Minister Pema Khandu to place the fund of Rs 20 crore, earmarked for the Department of Indigenous Affair (DIA), in departments such as the Director of Art & Culture or the Arunachal Police Housing & Welfare Co-operation Ltd (APH&WCL).
The society claimed that the newly created DIA does not have a head of account and it would not be able to carry out any financial transaction.
Attending the Indigenous Faith Day last year, the chief minister had announced the fund for the DIA.
Further, they informed that several proposals like Multipurpose Cultural Heritage Centre, Indigenous Community Cultural Centre are pending with the state government.
These projects are important for preservation and promotion of the indigenous culture of the state, the society added.
