Appeal to not make provocative remarks in social media

ITANAGAR, Mar 13: The Reri Welfare Society (RWS) appealed to one and all to refrain from making any provocative or derogatory statement/remarks in social media over the rape incidents of 14 February and 1 March in Daporijo.
In a release, the RWS said that “unwarranted remarks made in social media by few individuals is damaging the social harmony, which is totally uncalled for”.
“Such remarks only spread hatred and do more harm than good to the society,” it said and appealed to all not to misuse social or print media, particularly on these alleged rape cases.
“Criminal doesn’t belong to any family, community, society, caste or creed. Let the law take its own course. Give the law-enforcing authority a free hand for fair investigations so that the accused are punished under the appropriate provisions/sections in law,” it added.
