Students’ orgs submit representation to NIT Director

YUPIA, Mar 15: A two-point representation was jointly submitted by the All Papum Poma Students’ Union (APPSU), led by its president and All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU), Assistant Games & Sports secretary, Teli Taniang to the Director of National Institute of Technology (NIT) at his office chamber, here on Thursday.
In the representation, the APPSU appealed to the director to initiate steps to ensure that the local unemployed youths are awarded C & D Grade jobs in the institute.
The organizations also drew his attention towards the inordinate delay in early shifting of NIT from Yupia to its permanent campus Jote.
“The time specified for shifting of NIT from Yupia to its permanent campus at Jote is running out. The constructing agency executing various contract works in the NIT, Jote are failing to complete the works awarded to them within the specified time due to non- funding from the centre”, the organizations added.
Further, the APPSU has strongly condemned the recent assault on a student of Arunachal Pradesh by seniors at NIT, Agartala.
