ICAR-NRC on yak celebrates Krishi Unnnati Mela

DIRANG, Mar 17: The ICAR-National Research Centre on Yak (NRCY) in collaboration with the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dirang celebrated Krishi Unnati Mela in Dirang campus of the institute on 17 March by organizing a ‘farmers’ meet’ and ‘farmer-scientist interaction’.
Clarifications on various queries raised by the farmers on scientific management of livestock, their feeding management, especially during winter, pest management in vegetables, soil health management and integrated fish farming were given by the scientists from the yak centre.
Addressing the farmers, Director of Dirang ICAR-NRC on Yak, Dr P Chakravarty urged them to take advantages from the scientists on different aspects of livestock and agricultural farming for their livelihood enhancement.
Animal feed, common salt, complete feed blocks, mineral mixtures and some basic healthcare medicines under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) were distributed to the farmers.
A total of 250 farmers along with government officials from different departments from in and around Dirang attended the programme.
Panchayat leaders were also present on the occasion.
