Hundreds benefited from free medical camp

ROING, Mar 18: More than 200 villagers from Koronu and nearby villages benefitted from a free health camp conducted by the District Health Society of Lower Dibang Valley district at Koronu Rehko, here on Friday last.
A team of specialist doctors from the district hospital of Roing conducted the camp, which included general health check up, urine test, blood sugar and dental check up, routine blood examination, blood pressure check up, and tests for malaria, typhoid, anaemia, BMI, etc.
Necessary medical advice and precautionary measures were given to the patients. Medicines were also provided to the needy patients free of cost.
The camp was organised in association with the Dibang Multipurpose Project (NHPC), Roing under its Corporate Social Responsibility programme (2017-18) with support of the VKV Alumni Association (VKVAA), Dibang Unit.
President VKVAA (DU), Dr Rasto Mena informed that the association’s next agenda is to conduct an eye operation camp, sometime in April-May 2018.
“Doctors from Nagpur will be conducting the eye operations. A pre screening camp will be conducted as soon as the date for the eye operation camp is finalised”, said Dr Mena.
DMO in-charge Dr S J Mitapo and DRCHO Dr Raju Mena led the team of specialist doctors from the district hospital, which included Dr N Yirang, Dr Ista Pulu, Dr Mite Linggi and Dr Lohit Deori.
ASM Koronu Ateko Mena, Dr Nalo from NHPC, Bengia Nyer from NHPC, VKV Roing Principal Krishnan and members of the VKVAA (DU) were also present.
