Alleged murderer arrested in Taliha

TALIHA, Mar 20: The Taliha unit police has arrested one Budiman Vishwakarma (22) for allegedly murdering a three-year-old child at a rented accomodation.
Police has also recovered the weapon used to commit the crime.
The accused was arrested from a jungle between Daporijo and Taliha.
Police said that Vishwakarma had also attempted to kill the mother of the baby girl who miraculously survived.
OC Pusa Bayor said that his office was alerted by the owner of the house, where the mother and child were staying, about the dead baby and the injured mother on 16 March, following which a police team was sent.
The mother was rushed to the hospital in Daporijo, which is around 50km from Taliha.
In absence of police vehicle or an ambulance, the police hired a private vehicle in which the mother was sent to Daporijo.
She is reported to be in a serious condition.
The police has arrested an accomplice as well, who have been released.
The accused has been remanded to judicial custody following registration of murder case against him. Initial investigation has revealed that Vishwakarma, who hails from Nepal, has been staying in Taliha since the last 10 months and was working as a blacksmith.
