BJP blames AYA itself for its failure to meet Rijiju

ITANAGAR, Mar 22: The Lower Subansiri District unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) blamed the Apatani Youth Association (AYA) itself for its failure to meet Union Minister Kiren Rijiju during his recent visit to Ziro.
“An arrangement could have been made (to meet Rijiju) had AYA approached the district BJP unit–the organizer of the event ‘Swagat Samaroh’ at Ziro on 18 March”, said district BJP president Tilling Dolley.
AYA did not approach the district BJP or the minister for a meeting. The AYA delegation had tried to meet Rijiju only when he was rushing back to the airfield due to bad weather, leaving the programme in the middle and was about to board the chopper, it said.
He also gave a detailed account of the various developmental activities taken up by Rijiju for development of the district.
Dolley said that that anybody wanting the details of the developmental projects at Ziro should first contact the local MLA or the party functionaries in the district before making press releases.
As a people’s representative, Rijiju’s performance has always been exemplary, he said adding that “He is counted among the best performing MPs in the country and is the face of the North East today,”
