FPS dealers say rice gone missing, lodge complaint

SEPPA, Mar 22: The All East Kameng Fair Price Shop Association (AEKFPSA) lodged a complaint with the East Kameng Deputy Commissioner about non-issuance of the current month’s (March) rice under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) to the Fair Price Shop (FPS) dealers of the district by the district whole nominee cum carriage contractor.
In the complaint letter, the association further informed the deputy commissioner that some FPSs have not even received their monthly quota of rice for the month of February for public distribution.
Stating that the District Wholesale Nominee cum Carriage Contractor M/s NN MPCS Ltd Ningcho has already lifted/drawn the monthly allocation from the FSD at Seppa, the association sought the deputy commissioner’s intervention on the matter.
It further urged the DC to streamline the public distribution system in East Kameng district so that the beneficiaries get their monthly rice on time.
The AEKFPSA said it had also held a meeting on 19 March to sort out the problem in the interest of consumers and beneficiaries of the NFSA scheme.
