Governor emphasizes on proper implementation of projects

LIKABALI, Mar 24: Governor BD Mishra emphasized on proper implementation of development plans and projects, and proper utilization of allocated funds.
Interacting with officers during his visit here in Lower Siang district on 23 March, the governor advised them to ensure transparency, accountability, continuity, audit and review, and, wherever required, midterm correction.
He asked the officers to motivate people for successful implementation of the goods and services tax, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gramjyoti Yojana, and agriculture and horticulture programmes.
Expressing concern over the security of the public, particularly girls, Mishra stressed on initiating proper measures to ensure foolproof safety and security for all. He emphasized on basic policing work, FIR registrations, correct inquiries, and impartial and merit-based recruitment process.
Lower Siang Deputy Commissioner AK Singh and SP Sinjatla Singpho briefed the governor on the status of the central and state government sponsored programmes in the district.
Mishra also met the officers of the 56 Division. The division’s Deputy GOC, Brig Ajay Pasbola, briefed the governor on the recent recruitment rally and the security status.
Accompanied by his wife Neelam Mishra, the governor visited Malinithan, where Research Director Batem Pertin and officers of the department briefed the governor.
The governor and his wife took part in a plantation programme at Malinithan, organised by the environment & forests department.
The governor later addressed the inaugural function of the Malini Mela at the Malinithan Mela ground, where he said Malinithan “is testimony to the flourishing and rich cultural heritage in the past in this part of the state.”
He urged the people, particularly gaon buras, panchayat leaders, elders and public leaders to ensure “cent percent girl literacy rate.” He also spoke on cleanliness and the need to motivate the young towards entrepreneurship and self-employment and taking part in Army recruitment.
Tourism Parliamentary Secretary PD Sona, Likabali MLA Kardo Nyicyor and Deputy Commissioner AK Singh also spoke. (PRO to Governor)
