BOMJIR, Mar 24: Over 150 women benefited from a four-day skill development programme on baking, mushroom cultivation, handicraft, and pickle and jam making, held here in Lower Dibang Valley district from 20 March.
An initiative of MLA Gum Tayeng to empower women, the programme was organized by NGO Madlime Designs with funding from Tayeng’s MLALAD fund. The MLA inaugurated it in the presence of ADC Atul Tayeng.
During the programme, master trainers Tumter Riba and Tumi Riba elaborated the processes of making homemade pickles, jams and cakes. They also taught the participants about mushroom cultivation.
The participants were assured of advertisement, marketing, and sale of their finished quality products.
