Boy injured in mob attack

ITANAGAR, Mar 26: A boy from Khasan Jugli village of Changlang district was reportedly attacked by a mob at Thapa village near Ledo in Tinsukia district of Assam on 24 March.
The boy, Benjamin Hacheng, was brutally attacked by a mob after an argument, and received grievous cut injury on his chest. He is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dirbugarh, informed the All Changlang District Students’ Union (ACDSU).
Vehemently condemning the incident, the ACDSU urged the Margherita unit of the Gorkha Students’ Union to look into the matter and pressurize the police to bring the culprits involved in the incident to book and give them punishment as per the law.
It was not the first such incident to take place in that village. Such incidents have happened earlier too, the ACDSU said, and warned that frequent occurrence of such incidents might lead to communal disharmony among the people of the two neighbouring villages.
