Alleged four rapists identified

YINGKIONG, Mar 28: The persons, who allegedly gang raped a minor girl on the evening of 25 March at Gandhi Bridge here, have been identified.
As per information received from the general secretary of Karko Village Welfare Society, the DIPRO reported that the alleged rapists are Ojing alias Tapali Jamoh, Tani Mibang, Takyam Mize and Kajang Tatin.
Two of them were already apprehended and handed them over to police by the public.
A case has been registered at Yingkiong Police Station under section 376 (d)/34 IPC, read with section 6 of the POCSO Act, upon receiving an FIR from the father of the victim.
The police investigating the case have assured the public of apprehending the other two alleged accused at the earliest.
Meanwhile, the infuriated public of Yingkiong and Jengging Township, including representatives of the Karko Village Welfare Society, its women wing, Women Welfare Society of Upper Siang, various NGOs and student organizations, have vehemently condemned the heinous crime.
They met the district superintendent of police and deputy commissioner and demanded stringent punishment for the alleged rapists. (DIPRO)
