PASIGHAT, Mar 31: Students from Lohit, Tirap, Changlang, Anjaw, Longding and Namsai districts studying at Jawaharlal Nehru College (JNC) here in East Siang district came together to clean the lower campus of the college on Saturday as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Supported by Municipal Ward 12 Councillor Kangge Moyong, who provided tools and machinery for the daylong programme, the students, clubbed under the banner of the All Lohit, Tirap, Changlang, Anjaw, Longding, and Namsai Students Union-JNC Unit (ALTCALNSU) participated in the hundreds.
Highlighting the day’s event, Wanglom Lowang and Piyanam Singkai, the president and the general secretary of the ALTCALNSU unit said “the key idea is to be an agent to the idea of the Swachhta Abhiyaan through personal indulgence and promotion.”
Crediting Moyong for supporting the initiative, the students vowed to carry out more such activities in the future at various other places.
Moyong hailed the students for carrying out the cleanliness drive, and promised to support them in such endeavours.
