ITANAGAR, Apr 10: Governor BD Mishra has extended greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Pongtu festival of the Tutsa tribe, and expressed hope that the festival would usher in peace, happiness and prosperity for all.
‘I trust the celebration this year will bring the blessings of supreme god Rangkathok for a bumper harvest and security of the crops against damages and natural calamities,’ the governor said in his message.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu has also extended greetings to the people of the state, particularly the Tutsa community, on the festive occasion, and reiterated his call for everyone to join the celebration of festivals, irrespective of their communities and their religious affiliations.
‘Festivals not only preserve our rich and distinct culture but also play a pivotal role in strengthening the bond between different communities of our distinct state,’ the CM said in his message, and prayed to the almighty for peace, prosperity and happiness for the people of the state.
